As a part of the 100 year celebration of the university, a number of Centennial Awards will be given. These awards are meant to honor those who, over the past century, have most embodied the tremendous spirit of the University of Redlands. The awardees will be announced over the Centennial’s Opening Weekend, October 20-21, 2006 and the awards ceremony will take place at the Centennial Closing on Oct. 27, 2007.
A 15-member alumni awards committee, chaired by Ann Halligan, ’76, has been charged with making these selections. Alumni were considered based on achievements and contributions in the areas of university service and support, career achievement, volunteer/community service, and university educators (faculty, administrators, & staff). In addition to honoring these alumni, “Hope” Awards will be given to selected current students and recent graduates who most embody our hope for the future of the institution. Heritage Awards were first given at the 75th anniversary to posthumously honor those whose contributions had the greatest impact on the university. To this group, additional inductees will be added, creating a “Heritage Hall of Honor,” a permanent memorial to these giants in the university’s history.
Plan to join us for both the Opening and Closing of the Centennial to honor these amazing individuals.
